Standing above stereotypes is a business decision, it is a matter of education and development, also courage sometimes.  the Irish Latvian Chamber of Commerce, the British Chamber of Commerce in Latvia, and RISEBA.lv are also in favour of an open business environment and equal opportunities without any glass ceiling.

We are happy to host this event together with empowerer Novatore.eu and their inspiring leader Baiba Rubess herself as one of the speakers. Just one week before the second Novatore Impact summit.

REAL WOMEN SPEAKERS

– EMPOWERING, YOUNG PROFESSIONAL Monta Aleksandra Lācāne

Monta is one of the rare women who work in the management of the aviation industry. She started as an air traffic controller but now leads the Training Department at VAS “Latvijas Gaisa satiksme” (LGS). Monta is also an associate professor at A/S “Transport and Communications Institute” (TSI). She will discuss her unique journey in an industry that is predominantly male-oriented.

– INSPIRING C-SUITE EXECUTIVE Baiba Rubess

Baiba is the Co-Founder of Novatore. She is highly experienced, results-oriented, and an inspiring business executive with a range of business experience from oil and gas, retail, automotive, telecommunications – and most recently, transport/railways. Governance, transparency, human rights, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement are her key focus areas.

– MACHINERY INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL Ieva Johnson

Ieva is currently the CEO of Sit Right Latvija. She is an Experienced Chief Executive Officer with a demonstrated history of working in the machinery industry. Sit Right AB manufactures agricultural and forestry machinery which means that Ieva is an export professional of very “manly” products that are considered in society as made by and for men.

– HIGH PROFILE SCIENTIST Marija Dunce

Marija is a physicist, a Doctor of Physical Sciences. She is also the winner of the L’ORÉAL Latvia scholarship for women in science. Marija has said, “Although there are different stereotypes about scientists, every scientist is an individual.” At the discussion, we hope to hear what she thinks of the stereotype that Physics is a field perceived as monopolized by men.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Aigars Ceplītis, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Media and Creative Technologies at RISEBA University.
