Annual Traditional Christmas Party

On the 13th December this year Irish Latvian Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with Rietumu Bank invited you to the Annual Chamber Christmas Party at Avalon Hotel & Conferences

H.E. Seamus Mac Aonghusa, Ambassador of Ireland in Latvia, honoured us with the speech about the further cooperation in 2017. A very warm speech was given by Mrs. Maruta Plivda, the Chairperson of Preiļi Local government, as well as by Mrs. Iveta Stare, the Chairperson of Preili Hospital. This event was a next phase related to the cooperation with Latgale region, the CEO of ILCC Ilze Krēsliņa is sure it was not the last one – there are already more ideas and projects for 2017. Nice words were given by Mr Aldis Adamovičs, a deputy of Saeima, and a well-known Latvian film director Mr Jānis Steičs, who was born near Preiļi himself and currently is the citizen of honour of Preili town.

During the evening a great Irish and Latvian music was played by Ģirts Pavēnis. This year for our annual Holiday Celebration Concert joined: CEILI Rue, Irish dance studio, dancing the traditional Irish dances, and the Latvian folk dance group Gaida  from Preili dancing traditional Latvian dances. As a surprise to our guests and friends was the last performance – Gaida dancers performed an Irish dance. It was a joint project with CEILI Rue.

The welcome drink was sponsored by Jameson and Kronis. Saldus Maiznieks had prepared very nice Christmas gifts for each guest: freshly made ginger breads and a slice of Latvian traditional rye bread. Avalon Hotel & Conferences served a great food for our guests during the evening, including salads, meat, and desserts. This was a great opportunity to celebrate the end of the year with colleagues and guests.

We would like to express a special gratitude to the co-host – Rietumu Bank and our supporter Embassy of Ireland in Latvia. During the evening ILCC presented certificates of appreciation for the most punctual guests and friends: Debets and Taipei mission in Latvia, for the most generous friend: Rietumu Bank, and for the most frequent guests at our events: Latvia Tours, Numeri and Loze&Partners. We would like to express gratitude to the photographer Annija Jace. This time the donations went to Preili Hospital Maternity Ward.
