The Freeport of Riga is a significant part of global and regional cargo supply chains and passenger traffic network in the Baltic Sea region, providing safe and reliable services. An integral part of the city, the Port recognizes its social and environmental responsibilities and makes a strong contribution to the growth of Latvia’s economy.

Both historically and geographically, the port is an integral part of the city of Riga. It occupies 11% of the territory of the city of Riga on both banks of the River Daugava and stretches for 15 km from the Vanshu Bridge in the very center of the city to the mouth of the river in the Gulf of Riga. The strategically advantageous geographical location, well-developed connections for all transport modes and diverse logistics solutions provide the Port of Riga with the status of a multimodal transport hub, effectively serving 200 million consumer markets and being an important distribution center in the region. Moreover, the port of Riga boasts an excellent infrastructure, developed in compliance with the requirements of modern passenger transport and cruise industry
